Are You In The House Alone? (1978)
PREVIOUSLY-VIEWED / FORMER RENTAL VHS / NTSC RARE JAPANESE IMPORT
LABEL: Suncrown YEAR: 1978 AKA: N/A DIRECTOR: Walter Grauman CAST: Scott Colomby, Kathleen Beller, Blythe Danner, Tony Bill, Dennis Quaid COUNTRY: US NOT RATED / SP MODE / COLOR / 86m This is a well done made-for-TV thriller. Gail Osborne (KATHLEEN BELLER) is raped and left at her home. While she is in the hospital recovering, she begins to tell the story of how she was attacked. It goes from her meeting her steady boyfriend, to her teacher who takes a liking to her, to her ex-boyfriend, all different stories, and all suspects. But who did it? This movie is actually issue-oriented (stalking and acquaintance rape), but it was released before this kind of thing was really spoken about much. It also has some pretty effective suspense leading up to the attack (scary notes in her locker at school, creepy phone calls, HALLOWEEN-style POV camera shots). And instead of turning into a predictable courtroom drama after the assault, it ends on a rather ironic and somewhat cynical note. The movie was based on a fairly well-known young adult novel of the same name by RICHARD PECK and this Z-Grade gem is also unique in that it features a very early role for a young Mr. DENNIS QUAID. BONUS FEATURE includes a lengthy slideshow preview of the box art for many other (and now very rare) SUNCROWN VHS releases! VHS FEATURES: - English Language w/ Japanese Subtitles
